When shopping for jeans (kids especially) comfort and durability are key considerations; after all, they need to stand up to general wear-and-tear, impromptu games of football, and the move that has ripped many a pair of children's trousers: knee slides. This can often mean that style and fit take a backseat. Denim is notoriously durable, making it a wardrobe staple, but finding the perfect pair that combines durability with comfort and style can sometimes seem like a tall order.
We are all familiar with the ongoing search for the ideal jean, but luckily Levi's are on hand to help. With their iconic cuts and mini-me styles, the internationally renowned denim designer has made finding the right fit more effortless than ever. Levi's has six core cuts in their jeans for children, so whether you're looking for a tapered, slim fit or a super skinny style, you'll be sure to find the pair you're looking for that will survive the test of time. Read on to discover Levi's children's jeans, and remember - it's all in the fit!
1. Kids 510™ Skinny Fit
The 510™ is a skinny fit style for boys, made in soft stretch denim for long-lasting comfort to see them from one activity to the next. This fit isn't skin tight, but it's cut close and infused with stretch to retain the style without compromising comfort. They are complete with TruTemp 365 technology for thermal regulation and sustainable Repreve® fibre.
2. Kids 511™ Slim Fit
The 511™ is a modern slim cut with room and stretch to move around, making them a good choice for even the most adventurous children. These jeans are slim fitting without being too skinny, making them a versatile wardrobe staple that can be dressed up and down. It's a modern take on a classic cut, with the traditional 5-pocket design that will never go out of style.
3. Kids 512™ Slim Taper Fit
Similar to the 511™, the 512™ is a classic slim cut with a modern update. This cut has a slight taper to the leg and, thanks to the stretch denim, these jeans are comfortable enough to wear all day long and durable enough to last (almost) every adventure. The 512™ jeans are versatile enough for everyday wear, but they were designed with a tailor-inspired taper, making them a brilliant option for dressing up with a button-down shirt.
4. Kids 711™ Skinny Fit
The 711™ is a classic skinny fit and a wardrobe staple. This versatile style isn't as slim fitting as the 710™, but it achieves the look whilst offering a more spacious cut, perfect for all adventures. The classic, mid-rise cut of the 711™ is the everyday jean that will see them through spontaneous football games and days out alike.
5. Kids 710™ Super Skinny Fit
The 710™ is a super skinny fit - in fact, it's the skinniest cut in their collection. Like all their jeans for children, this style is made with stretch denim, making them comfortable and stylish in equal measure. Due to their super skinny, mid-rise cut, this fit isn't for everyone, but they make a style statement when worn with an oversized sweatshirt.
6. Kids 720™ High Rise Super Skinny Fit
Much like the 710™, the 720™ has the skinniest leg in the collection. However, this cut goes the extra mile and also lays claim to the highest rise, perfect for wearing with a cropped jumper or dressed up with a blouse. These soft and stretchy jeans might be skinny, but they are still made to move, meaning not only will they survive dance routines and climbing trees, but they will keep kids comfortable all day long.
Levi's is helping to look after our planet
Denim is made out of cotton, also known as the 'thirsty crop.' The process uses upwards of 10,000 litres of water to produce enough cotton for just one pair of jeans. However, innovations in the textile production industry are changing the way we grow and care for our denim, which we discussed in a previous post: Denim and How our Brands Approach Sustainability.
Levi's, in particular, are paving the way when it comes to improving the sustainability rating of denim and lessening their impact on the planet. They are so committed to the cause that they have even opened up their techniques, allowing other brands to replicate in their respective factories. Furthermore, they have introduced Repreve® fibres into some styles, a textile made from recycled plastic. You can read more about their sustainability practices here.
Levi's don't claim to be perfect, but they are working towards a more sustainable future, and they create durable jeans that are built to last, complete with adjustable waistbands that allow the jeans to grow with your child. With that in mind, you can rest assured that you are making an earth-friendly purchase with Levi's, and all that's left is to find the fit that works for your little ones.
More is more
Although these are the six core styles offered by Levi's, they also design a range of seasonal styles from dungarees to flares. Browse the full line here.
