Our sustainability journey

See what we've accomplished and where we’re headed.

  • Our company is founded by a pioneering mother of six.

Today, we continue to empower women in leadership and embrace diversity and difference.

  • We hold our first fundraising event to support local charities.

Today, we are proud to have a full-time fundraising department dedicated to supporting community charities locally and around the world.

  • We earn accreditation as a Living Wage Employer.

Today, we proudly maintain this accreditation from the UK Living Wage Foundation, and remain committed to providing fair pay and quality benefits for all our team.

  • We install our first solar panels.

Today, all our electricity comes from renewable sources and our entire warehouse vehicle fleet is 100% electric. Since 2016, we’ve reduced emissions from our UK offices and warehouses by 96%.

  • We partner with a local papermill to recycle all our waste cardboard into new cardboard boxes.

We also switch our UK offices and warehouses to zero-waste-to-landfill, which means that all waste from our onsite operations is either composted, recycled, or used as fuel.

  • We upgrade our delivery packaging from plastic to responsibly sourced paper and cardboard.

All our cardboard includes 55% to 100% recycled content and most paper is FSC certified from responsibly managed forests. We reduced unnecessary packaging and improved its suitability for at-home recycling. Going forward, we’ll keep improving our designs and pushing for lower-impact materials.

  • We add eco-conscious search filters to make it easy for customers to find products they love.

Today, we offer customers over 25,000 products featuring more sustainable materials; this represents almost 30% of our product lines.

  • We launch our in-house brand “Childrensalon Essentials” with GOTS™ certified organic cotton.

Today, our in-house design team continues to improve the social and environmental impacts of our own-brand collections in-line with our 2030 Targets.

  • We stop buying real fur and are proud to be on the official list of fur-free retailers working with our brands to go even further to protect animals.

We launch the Childrensalon Foundation to amplify the impact of our philanthropic initiatives and create more opportunities for more children around the world.

We hire our first Head of Sustainability and create a new sustainability department to advance our strategy and deliver on our Promise to future generations.

  • We introduce complimentary carbon offsetting for all customer orders, and will be fully carbon neutral across scopes 1, 2, and 3 by the end of the year.

As part of our larger strategy to tackle climate change, we are aiming to reduce carbon emissions per average order by 50% by 2030.

  • We aim to dramatically reduce our footprint and drive positive change through products that incorporate more circular design and lower-impact materials.
