One Look Three Ways | Christmas Dress

As with Christmas jumpers, when it comes to choosing a dress, all parents have the dilema of whether or not they are going to wear it again. If you're not an advocate of fast fashion there are dresses  you can buy which aren't so obviously festive that your little girl can wear more than just once. Alternatively, it's possible to buy something that looks very Christmassy but can be dressed down after the season. As with any item of clothing, it's all about how you style and accessorise it.
The trends for festive season are very similar year on year - popular fabrics include taffeta, velvet, tweed and tartan and colours are most notably green, gold or red for a super-traditional look. Classic party style dresses can be worn with elegant little shoes on the day and accessorised with boots or worn with a chunky knit over the top throughout the rest of the winter. Similarly, something plain such as a denim dress can be dressed up and accessorised with glittery hair accessories and party shoes, to inject the feel of Christmas.

We caught up with little fashion influencer Zooey who has an impeccable and unique sense of style. Zooey's signature style is very rock chick and she is known to favour a leather biker jacket, boots and a pair of sunglasses as her go-to look. We know that Stella McCartney Kids is one of Zooey's favourite brands, so we hand-picked this cool red dress with geometric print just for her. Whilst part of the designer's Christmas capsule collection, what we love about this dress is that it's not overly festive as Stella has cleverly balanced the red with different brightly coloured shapes.  We challenged Zoe to style the dress in three different ways.

"Stella McCartney Kids is one of our favourite brands, so when we were challenged to style this dress with a super busy geometric print to make the perfect Christmas outfit we wanted to go all out, and be as extra as possible!

We decided to stay within the brand and styled the dress with a pair of Stella McCartney Kids star boots, and the Stella McCartney Kids teen black leather star bag, to complement the silver star prints on the dress. While looking for some festive accessories to make the outfit feel a little bit more Christmasy, we found this super cute red beret with a pom-pom. To complete our Christmas look we styled the outfit with Zooey’s green cat eye sunglasses.

Ideally we would have also styled a white or fur coat too, but wanted to focus the attention on the dress this time."

"The busy print and ruffle shoulder design of this Stella McCartney Kids dress is really girly, so we wanted to make it a little edgier by adding some military flavor to it. We found this green hooded parka-style jacket, with red plush fleece lining from Marc Jacobs, and decided to style it with black Doc Martens from Zooey’s closet. It wouldn’t be a Zooey outfit without her sunglasses, so we completed the outfit with a pair of Stella McCartney Kids Star mirrored sunglasses. Zooey likes wearing this jacket with the hood up because it’s warm and it especially helps to hide her face with her sunnies on. And there you go, a military vibe with a little rock flavour"

"For our last coordinate of this Stella McCartney Kids Christmas dress, we wanted to create an easy outfit that can get you out the door quickly, but wouldn’t make you look too lazy. We restyled this Stella McCartney Kids dress with Zooey’s signature leather jacket, a pair of black mayoral leggings and UGG boots to create a cosy outfit that you can still look cool going out in. When choosing sunglasses we imagined a situation where we just got out of bed and needed to go to the store or grab coffee, so we completed this look with a pair of big black Stella McCartney Kids sunnies and tied Zooey’s hair back in a ponytail. It’s the perfect ‘rock star day off’ vibe"
