#SafeAtHome | Easter Bread Baking

Bread in certain religions is known as the body of Christ and given that it's the time of year when we celebrate the rebirth of Christ, baking bread is a popular Easter tradition, especially in parts of Europe.

With certain ingredients such as yeast in short supply currently, we've put together a simple bread recipe that you can make at home as a family using every day ingredients. To make it more fun, we show you how you can shape the dough into adorable bunny faces to be enjoyed over the Easter weekend.

- YOU WILL NEED -

MAKES 6

- 250g plain flour

- 1 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 155ml milk

- 50g melted chocolate

- A piping bag

- An oven tray

- Grease proof paper

- HOW TO MAKE EASTER BUNNY BREAD ROLLS -

Set the oven to 190 degrees celcius and line the baking tray with grease proof paper

Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and milk, then knead the dough gently with your hands on a lightly floured surface.

Separate the dough into 8 equal pieces. The dough will be sticky so you might find you need a layer of flour.

Shape 6 of the pieces into balls and flatten each one slightly to make the bunny heads - place them on a baking tray.

Using the 2 remaining pieces, seprate them into 12 smaller, equal pieces (6 from each ball of dough) and shape them into bunny ears, gently attaching 2 to each head.

Brush a small amount of millk over the top of each bunny and place the tray in the oven.

Bake the rolls for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Once the rolls are cool, melt the chocolate in a saucepan on a low heat.

Pour the chocolate into the piping bag and add a little x for the nose and two dots for the eyes.

Enjoy warm with some butter or your favourite spread!
