What's In My Beach Bag with Léa Sfeir
When it came to packing the perfect beach bag, we knew that table-scape artist and mother of three, Léa Sfeir would have all the answers. Not only is this Parisian in Dubai impeccably stylish but regular trips to the beach with her two-year-old twin girls Gaïa and Marie and six-year-old son Adam mean she has the inside track on seaside essentials.
Staying true to her French roots, Léa chose a selection of beautiful Chloé clothes and accessories from Childrensalon for the ultimate in beach style and comfort. We asked Léa to tell us exactly what she packed in her basket and how she and her family stay cool and have fun on the Persian Gulf...
Beach Life in Dubai
Where are you planning on going for your next beach break?
Hopefully we'll go away for Eid holidays but living in Dubai we are lucky enough to have regular beach breaks close to home.
What makes the Dubai beaches such a great place for young children and families?
The kids' clubs for kids! And beautiful large pools designed especially for kids with big spaces to bike and run.
What three items are absolutely essential for your children in your beach bag?
Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses! The girls absolutely love their light and airy Chloé sun hats and oversize sunglasses.
What three items are absolutely essential for you?
What swimwear do you love to dress your kids in?
I love Chloé swimwear for my girls. It’s so cute and chic.
There's nowhere that accessories count more than the beach...
Practical and Stylish
Do you pack cover-ups for wearing post swim?
Yes of course, always! I pack beach ponchos for all of them that I curate very carefully and cool cotton separates are a must for going to and from the beach. These pretty Chloé sundresses are ideal for the twins.
What do you look for in the perfect beach bag?
It has to be stylish, have pockets, be light and not too large.
Do you pop things in individual pouches inside the bag?
Yes, I have a few pouches for my creams, for my kids, for my little items for the beach. I love pouches to keep things organised.
Fun in the Sun
What are your favourite beach snacks and drinks for you and the kids?
French fries are our favourite! And a freshly squeezed watermelon juice for me and water for the kids.
What are your favourite beach games?
Building sand castles is definitely the kids' favourite activity, that and splashing in the pool.
Are your kids sand fans or do you have to keep those toes sand-free?
Fortunately they do like the sand, although Marie, one of the twins, is getting a little bit annoyed by it lately. The three of them definitely love the pool more because they can play in it more easily.
