A Postcard from Palm Beach

My name is Victoria and I am a mum to three wonderful children who excite me, challenge me, but most of all teach me every day how to love. Motherhood feels like my calling in life and even before I was a mother I would dream about how I would dress my future children. Dressing is storytelling, and each adventure we take, I take the time to plan, arrange, and coordinate the looks for our trips.

The Breakers is known as one of the most iconic resorts in the heart of Palm Beach. Amid glossy green lawns and towering palm trees, this Renaissance-style hotel offers luxury accommodation and unmatched amenities for an ultra-exclusive break. And with no shortage of experiences, families can enjoy the private beachfront, the mini golf course and the four expansive pools — what an outdoor oasis! 

The Breakers has a lot of space especially dedicated to children too, from playgrounds and ice cream shops to its own Build-a-Bear Workshop — it’s truly a resort you won’t have to leave during your stay. But if you wish to explore beyond the historical lobby, then Worth Avenue is just a short distance away and it’s well worth a visit . . .

What they wore: Venturing out in beautiful coordinated outfits from Chloé; Rose’s glittery butterfly sandals from Sophia Webster completed her summery daytime look. Tristan wore a white linen polo shirt from Il Gufo, tucked into a pair of smart pinstripe shorts.

Best experienced on foot, this one-of-a-kind destination is home to more than 200 stores. As you make your way through the area, the little decorated alleys and perfectly manicured gardens are so enjoyable. Even the shops feel like hidden gems from another time. Plus the art galleries and luxurious boutiques have the most opulent storefronts, and you’ll find your pace slows as you stop to take a closer look. 

If browsing the shops isn’t their favourite pastime, Worth Avenue hosts many events for its visitors, including historical walking tours and music concerts. And if you’re hungry, the food scene is wonderful too, especially if you and your kids love Italian and French cuisine. If you're headed to an award-winning restaurant, note that the non-spoken dress code is very elegant — you can tell people just love to dress up when they’re here.

What they wore: Esmaé and Rose wore matching sister-sister dresses from Dolce & Gabbana, complemented by pink leather sliders. And Tristan was ready to explore the shopping plaza in his comfy New Roma trainers.

If you’re daydreaming of an afternoon or evening by the sea, Palm Beach boasts 47 miles of breathtaking coastline, stretching from Jupiter Beach to Boca Raton. And the tropical beaches here are known for their golden sands and enticing calm waters, making them great for families. Fancy a dip? 

Whether your little ones love to make a splash or prefer to write their names in the sand, you’re sure to find a beach that keeps them entertained (and the grown-ups too). Gaze out into the Atlantic Ocean, play a competitive game of volleyball or simply seek shade under a palm tree blowing in the sea breeze. Oh, and if you visit in the summer, you might even catch sight of a turtle on the beach for nesting season!

What they wore: Dressed in beach-ready Zimmermann outfits, the girls enjoyed dipping their toes in the evening tide. Tristan brought his Liewood volleyball along for some unforgettable family fun, matching perfectly with his colour-block Dolce & Gabbana outfit. 

• The best tip is to truly just be prepared for anything.
   
• Take the time to set up some bags with activities, stickers, magnetic tiles, and compact games. Each child will get their own, so that when we are dining and enjoying ourselves, our children also have things to do. 
   
• Children often need entertainment, so I find it helps to request outdoor seating when available. Sometimes a little people watching goes a long way, even for children.

My kids have great appetites but they will never say no to a good basket of chips, a perfectly cooked steak, and a healthy serving of ice cream to end any meal.

My eldest was absolutely in love with her Chloé skirt. She said it made her feel so beautiful. My middle daughter Rose loved the Dolce & Gabbana roses dress. She loves anything with roses on it, because as she likes to remind me, it’s in her name.

It’s a tough one but ideally a linen oversized shirt because I can make it work as a dress, a beach cover-up and even a daytime look.

Our next dream holiday would be a trip to Hawaii. My children recently learned about the islands of Hawaii and have been asking to go. Because it’s an incredibly long flight for us from the East Coast, we’ve decided to wait it out a little bit. But we would love to visit in the near future.
