The Eid Shop | Dressing Together for Eid

Dressing children for Eid is a cherished part of the celebrations. The excitement of picking out a truly special outfit and seeing their proud smiles in the mirror as buttons are fastened and sashes are tied is hard to beat. For Arabia Sharpe, Childrensalon's MENA business insights specialist, seeing her grandchildren in their Eid best is one of her highlights of the occasion. “My heart jumps for joy when I see them dressed in their beautiful clothes,” Arabia tells us, "they can't wait to show their new outfits to family and friends.”

To help you find something just as special, we've put together an array of outfits that will look lovely on their own and spectacular on siblings, setting the scene for a very happy Eid. Plus, if you're looking for ways to keep your little ones busy in the lead-up to the occasion, read on for some fun activities, including a delicious recipe and our very own Ramadan kindness calendar for them to enjoy.

The Sweetest Soft Neutrals

Your little ones will look perfectly put together in elegant shades of taupe, blush pink and ivory.

These beautifully muted tones are perfect for dressing kids of all ages, and everyone from tiny to teen will love wearing them. Hand-finished detailing elevates these clothes to heirloom status while the soft colours make them easy to mix and match. Childrensalon's head buyer, Dina Moon, says, "Sweet little shorts finished with a traditional cummerbund and a crisp pintuck shirt give a timeless, Royal feel, and pink dresses made from layers of intricate lace and ruffles are prettiness personified."

Golden Moments

Pairing gold touches with neutrals is a luxe take on sibling style.

We love the aesthetic of pared-back neutrals with a hint of gold. Aigner, Versace, Burberry and Elsy have all finished their classic pieces with golden accents, and there's nothing like a linen suit or a crisp white dress teamed with metallic accessories for a touch of laid-back back luxury. "This is such an elegant look,” says Dina, “and it feels extremely special when every child in the family photos has a little shimmer of gold in their outfit."

Ruby Reds All Round

There's nothing bolder than a splash of red, especially when they're matching.

We can't think of anything more impactful than dressing siblings in a stunning shade of red. We love these matching lace dresses for girls of all ages from Patachou, and the accessories give a top-to-toe feel that is just adorable. "We chose these dresses with joyful Eid celebrations in mind," says Jo, "and there are plenty of options for the boys too with buster suits at Rachel Riley and tailoring at Romano."

Blue is for Boys and Girls

Dressing brothers and sisters in complementary blue hues is a choice everyone will love.

Dressing them up in a symphony of cool blues creates a lovely sense of cohesion amongst siblings and cousins, or even just to match the grown-ups. Our senior buyer Jo Welch has a penchant for this calming hue, as do we! "Blue is such a versatile shade that would look wonderful on a group of children,” says Jo, “uniting them with a simple chic theme. I'm particularly excited about Foque's beautiful dresses and Paz Rodríguez's suits."

☾ Ramadan and Eid Activities ☾

Family is at the heart of Eid celebrations and, as Arabia tells us, "Gatherings where beautiful dishes deck the dining table and kids enjoy eating sweets without limit are just wonderfully joyful to see." Baking is such a lovely family activity, so why not make your own tasty treats with our Eid cookie recipe? Your little ones could even extend the gesture by gifting a batch of their freshly-baked cookies to a friend or a neighbour.
