Christmas | Style one festive jumper, 3 ways
We're strong believers of choosing items that will last and can be worn again and again and then passed on. When it comes to Christmas - for those who aren't into novelty jumpers or fast fashion - it's a great idea to choose something that is not overly festive, but just enough so it can be dressed up.
We asked family blogger Galina and her daughter Katerina to pick something that can be worn for Christmas jumper day and other events in the holiday calendar. Galina shows us how you can style one jumper for three different occasions and beyond.
Galina says ...
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”. This song has been playing in our car for the last few weeks putting us in the festive mood. Katerina picked a fluffy ivory jumper with a silky black bow appliqué from Monnalisa.
You know when kids love something so much they don’t want to take it off and just wear it on repeat? This is exactly what happened with Katerina and her jumper!"
1. Watching the Nutcracker Ballet
It’s our Christmas tradition to watch ballet in December. The theatre’s sublime ambience makes you put on the most sumptuous outfit. A dashing gold pleated midi-skirt by Karl Lagerfeld seems like the right fit for the magical Nutcracker fairy tale by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. We always try to make a full day out of it so afternoon tea beforehand is a must. This year due to the pandemic, this isn't going to be possible. We will however continue our tradition at home where we'll download and watch the ballet on TV. We'll also be creating our own afternoon tea and one thing's for sure - Katerina will wear her jumper with this adorable outfit.
The English National Ballet is selecting highlights of the show for socially distanced audiences and you can watch it HERE .

2. A walk in the woods
Crisp air, frosty ground and cosy hats are perfect ingredients for a family walk in the woods. We have our favourite places for walks and it’s always exciting to see how they change with each season. Katerina put on these black velvet pleated trousers by IKKS and this ivory wool hat with a fur pom-pom by Catya to collect some pine cones from the woods. We think pine cones are great for decorating the house. You can put them in a glass bowl, make a wreath, use them for gift wrapping and many more things - just don’t forget to bake them in the oven first to make sure there are no insects.

3. Christmas Day
When the long anticipation is finally over and Christmas Day is here! Of course, the morning starts in pyjamas unwrappping presents under the tree, but the afternoon is reserved for time with grandparents. Katerina wanted to look dressy for the Christmas dinner, but comfortable for all the games on the floor in front of the chimney. To meet both of her wishes we found this black and white skort by the Italian designer Elsy. It's very chic and very comfy.
