Life in lockdown has changed the daily routine for most of us, including the majority of the team at Childrensalon. Our staff of nearly 500 is made up of talented, ambitious, and hardworking people from all over the globe, many of whom have children themselves. We wanted to go behind-the-scenes and give you a view of family life from some of our very own team-members at Childrensalon.
From homeschooling to ways to stay entertained, each family does it their own way. We are inviting you for a glimpse inside the family homes of our team to see how they are spending this time together.

- Meet the Abdrassilova Family -
Aya has been working as a Merchandising Admin Assistant at Childrensalon for almost a year and a half. Originally from Kazakhstan, Aya moved to London almost fifteen years ago before moving to Tonbridge last year, which is where she has been spending lockdown.
She has a beautiful daughter named Aliya, who just turned four and enjoys dancing, painting, and pretending to be a Russian teacher or a doctor.
Lockdown has meant we’ve all had to alter our routines. How do you usually structure your day as a family and how does it differ to before?
Luckily we have flexible hours at Childrensalon, so I can start working earlier and complete a few hours of work before Aliya wakes up. After she wakes up I can do some activities with her to keep her occupied while I finish my working day, and she also has been having art classes via Zoom.
What has been the most positive thing about spending more time at home as a family?
It’s been great to be able to spend more time with each other as a family, and I’ve also enjoyed not having to rush as much in the mornings!
What to wear
What activities have you been doing to learn and play, whilst staying safe at home? Tell us what your Aliya likes about each activity?
We’ve been reading a lot, it really helps with Aliya’s listening skills and her imagination. Aliya also loves dancing and helping me with the cooking; she’s always so proud of what we have cooked together! She’s also really enjoyed painting, it’s a wonderful way for her to express her creativity and feelings.
