Founded by Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion in 2004, VEJA’s mission statement is to fuse strong sustainable credentials with stylish design. The brand, led by its planet-first approach, uses conscious materials and practices to create its range of trainers, including the mini-me designs for kids that we stock right here at Childrensalon.

For the canvas and laces, Brazilian and Peruvian organic cotton is used, grown by farmers' associations in Brazil and Peru who harvest it with respect for people and the environment. And on the all-important durable soles you'll find Amazonian rubber, which is sourced responsibly, with VEJA buying the product at 3.5 time the market price, helping to improve the living conditions of the rubber tappers and fund the ongoing efforts to protect the Amazonian forest. Now, we know that the art of lace-tying can take some time to master, that's why VEJA has created lots of styles that fasten with Velcro. And they've even gone one step further with elasticated laces, so that your little one can feel all grown up whilst still being able to slip into their shoes in a hurry.
