May 2023 | This Month We're Inspired By . . .
May has arrived and there’s lots to look forward to this month. Bees are buzzing, there are family trips to be planned, and everyone’s getting ready for a very special day in history.
Blue skies mean we’re spending more time outside, so you’ve probably spotted a few stripy friends bobbing from flower to flower. World Bee Day is around the corner, and there’s so much to love about these tiny pollinators. Did you know they communicate through dance? Join us as we celebrate the humble bumble with our most buzz-worthy outfits.
Bees aren’t the only busy ones this month. We’ve scoured the globe to pick our favourite city sights for you and your hive to explore. From Amsterdam’s bright blooms to New York’s coolest museum, discover kidswear to match every stop on your itinerary.
And that’s not all we’re buzzing about. Over in the UK, we’re celebrating the Coronation in right royal fashion. Discover pieces fit for little princes and princesses from the likes of Beau KID and Mini Lunn. So, pour yourself a cup of tea and join us as we explore all that’s in store this May.
City to City
Soaking up some culture? Museums, flower festivals and fountain shows are all on the agenda.
Sightseeing Style
First stop on our city-hopping tour is Amsterdam's Tulip Festival (tulipfestivalamsterdam.com). Budding botanists will love wandering through a sea of colourful blooms at the famous Keukenhof Gardens, and who better to style their look than Pan Con Chocolat with its stunning floral prints? If you’re looking for a culture fix in the UAE, then be sure to catch the final stint of the Emotions! exhibition at Abu Dhabi's Children's Museum (louvreabudhabi.ae). With three floors of art to explore, keep them cool in MSGM's paint-splattered range for smiles all round. Next, we’re heading stateside to New York’s Museum of Ice Cream (museumoficecream.com) for a double scoop of fun. Explore 12 sensory installations where you’ll learn all about this sweet treat, plus entry includes unlimited (yes, unlimited) ice cream. Match their outfit to every flavour, courtesy of Joyday and Phi Clothing. Last on our list is a Parisian adventure, taking in the Palace of Versailles (chateauversailles.fr). Set to a symphony of classical music, its fountain shows are a sight to behold. Comfy shoes are a must, à la French brand VEJA, and don’t forget sunglasses for optimum viewing pleasure.

By Royal Appointment
Cue the bunting, it’s time to celebrate the Coronation with outfits worthy of a crown.
Majestic Moments
This month sees the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. And here in the UK, millions of people will be marking the occasion with street parties and plenty of delicious cake. For the outfits, our collection is jam-packed with designers flying the flag for great British style. London is calling over at Rachel Riley where the brand's signature King’s Guard motif features across babygrows and this charming intarsia-knit sweater. If your little one is celebrating their own special occasion this May, our London Walk gift hamper comes complete with Paddington Bear toy and a baby sleep set from My Little Pie, printed with the capital’s most loved icons. Your mini monarchs can also enjoy the royal treatment with crowns on everything from hairbands to their new favourite pair of trainers. The only thing left to decide is how you take your tea: one sugar or two?

Bee Happy!
We’re taking our style cues from nature this season with these bee-autiful pieces
Buzz, Buzz, Buzz
More than just honey makers, bees play a fundamental part in looking after the planet we call home. Our crops, plants and wildlife all rely on their pollination. In fact, nearly 90% of the world’s flowering plant species depend on this crucial process. And did you know that bees are in good company with other pollinators such as butterflies, hummingbirds and even bats? Saturday the 20th of May is World Bee Day, and there's no better time to teach your nature enthusiasts all about our fuzzy friends and how we can help protect them. Why not plant your own native wildflowers to show them some love? Or create a bee hydration station by leaving a shallow bowl of water outside. On hand to get kids in the spirit are some of our favourite designers, including Joules, Donsje and Jacadi Paris. With bee motifs appearing on leggings, dresses and backpacks, these pieces are as lovable as the little critters themselves.
