November 2023 | This Month We're Inspired By . . .
We’re always excited to welcome new designers to the Childrensalon family, and what better way to kickstart November than with little layers of woolly goodness from Smalls Merino? Super-soft and Mother-Nature approved, these cosy essentials are perfect for incoming colder weather.
The beginning of November also celebrates World Ballet Day, and our balletic-inspired pieces will have them dressed for their starring role. And from the stage to the silver screen, Givenchy’s latest Disney collaboration will not only bring a little nostalgia home, but you’ll win lots of cool-parent points too. Pass the popcorn!

“Why did we buy Smalls Merino? That’s easy. Their yarn is 100% traceable and their products are beautifully soft."

"Happy underneath it all"
Welcome, Smalls Merino! We’re delighted that the British brand has joined our family of designers, bringing with it a collection of luxury Merino-wool staples, just in time for winter! Founded by best friends Cat and Emma, Smalls Merino’s “mission to reimagine the way we wear wool” truly sets it apart as a slow fashion company, with a passion for quality over quantity.
The range of leggings, tops and accessories comes in a tonal palette of neutrals, and can be worn under clothes as an extra thermal layer, or on their own for lounging or sleeping. The naturally hypoallergenic yarns are also especially beneficial if your little one has sensitive or eczema-prone skin. What’s more, the wool is fully traceable and responsibly produced in mills with B Corp and EMAS certifications, meaning that its production meets the high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Happy sheep, happy planet, happy kids.

Our ballet-inspired designs will have them ready for every plié, pirouette and en-pointe moment.
Good toes, naughty toes
One of the many things to love about this time of the year is the twinkling lights of the theatre. World Ballet Day is celebrated on 1 November, and what could be more exciting than a trip to see their favourite performance? If you’re in London this Christmas, The Royal Ballet’s annual rendition of The Nutcracker runs from 6 December to 12 January and promises a truly magical experience.
For your prima ballerinas, we’ve got just the pieces for their starring role. Tutu du Monde’s layers of tulle are worthy of a Sugar Plum Fairy solo, and for tiny dancers, Caramelo Kids’ tutu-and-tights sets make adorable outfits when layered over a babygrow. Perhaps your little ones are putting on their own show at home? Dress rehearsals for Mum and Dad call for soft tie-front cardigans and Academy slogan tees from Guess. And no budding ballerina’s wardrobe is complete without a tutu or two from Angel’s Face. They make memorable Christmas gifts too; we'll take one in every colour!
