The spookiest time of the year is just around the corner and Halloween has always been a big celebration in the US. Unlike the traditionally spooky outfits worn for trick or treating in the UK, it's a chance for children to go all out with their fancy dress costumes, with a chance to dress like their favourite superhero, fictional character and more - there are no rules.
For those who tend not to want to buy a ready made costume from a shop, it's possible to be creative with everyday clothing and what's even better, they can wear them afterwards. With the help of super-stylish Zooey, we show you - in her mum's words - three different ways you can shop our site to create your own cool costume for Halloween, using Zooey's top picks below.

ROCKSTAR
COSTUME
We found some cute flared denim jeans by Stella McCartney Kids which inspired a rock star outfit. We styled this with a plain white tank top by Joha and a faux fur leopard coat by Il Gufo. We also wanted to pull off a grungy musician vibe, so styled the outfit with leopard sandals by Birkenstock. To complete this outfit, we found the perfect super star sunglasses from Stella McCartney Kids. As a prop, we used Zooey’s Fender Ukulele.

After Halloween, we would re-style these jeans with some converse and a leather jacket. This still gives off a rock style vibe which is actually Zooey’s signature style. We would also switch to more casual sunnies to complete her outfit.

We immediately fell in love with this Dainty Dizzy Snow Fairy Tulle dress and thought it would be super cute to dress Zooey up as a fairy. We chose this set of wings and wand and the perfect Sophie Webster Mini winged shoes to complete her outfit.

This tulle dress is actually really perfect for any formal occasion Zooey has to attend, like an event or red carpet. Normally we would style it with Dr Martens boots, but this time we thought it was cute to re-style and dress it down with Converse High Tops, a leather jacket and her signature pink sunnies.

COSTUME
One of the most iconic and easiest Halloween costumes to make is Wednesday Addams and we found this perfect black dress with white collar from Il Gufo. We accessorised it with these black t-bar shoes, black socks and braided Zooey’s hair. We found a nice spooky area to shoot and voila, Wednesday Addams.

Zooey has to attend a lot of events so it’s great to have a simple black formal dress handy. We re-styled this piece with cherry Dr. Marten boots, white ruffle socks, leopard sunnies and Zooey’s signature half bun. The leopard Il Gufo coat would be our outerwear of choice to wear with this dress.
