Inspired by the Space Race and the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, Giancarlo Zanatta's Moon Boot hit the shelves in the early 1970s. The boots worn by Neil Armstrong and co when they took their first steps on the moon's surface sparked the idea, their chunky silhouette and high-tech features reflected in Zanatta's design - with the addition of the immediately recognisable crisscrossed drawstring laces, of course.
