Wedding | Celebrate in Colour: Bridesmaid & Flower Girl Dresses

The one aspect where most brides choose to compliment their chosen wedding colour is in the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses.
The first step though is deciding what this is going to be. 
A great tip for gathering inspiration is to create mood boards. By pulling together a mix of different items that you like and wish to include, it's possible to pick out a particular colour that features often. What mood are you drawn to, and is there one overwhelming colour? A good place to start is by building your colour theme around one particular feature such as the flowers. Your location can be another consideration. For example, if your wedding is being held in a grand setting, you may be able to draw inspiration from the building. If you're getting married outside, the landcape and surrounding greenery is a source for inspiration, and the season is a big influencing factor – spring wouldn't be spring without a pretty pastel palette. 

Once you've chosen your colour, there are a variety of ways you can incorporate it. For example, you may want to go all out pink for every single detail or you may use it to simply offer a subtle pop – ways you can do this is with table settings, ties or pocket squares for groomsmen. Add a sophistictated personal touch with a signature cocktail from the bar - Periwinkle Pimms on the lawn anyone? Lastly, consider a complimentary colour to offset your primary theme. The best place to start is to look at the colour wheel and see which shades work well together. For example, lemon yellow and lilac, peach and pastel blue, delicate pink and sage green.

Pink is another timeless choice. It's the colour of romance, and it symbolises love and tenderness. There are so many shades to choose from, with peachy-pink set to be a prominent trend this year. You may choose to keep it subtle with a soft shade of peach or make a statement with punchy bright orange flowers in the bouquet and table arrangements.

Calming, elegant, and classic, offset light blue with a gold or orange shade. You may choose to keep it subtle with a soft shade of peach or make a statement with punchy bright orange flowers in the bouquet and table arrangements.
