Special occasions call for extra-special new outfits, especially for the littlest members of the family and dressing her little girls beautifully is something that fashion, beauty and lifestyle content creator, Basma Kahle prides herself on. Basma lives in London with her husband and two daughters Liyana, four, and Sofia, two, who she proudly tells us ‘share my passion for dressing up and looking glamorous at all times’
As Eid al-Fitr - one of the most anticipated events in the Muslim calendar - approaches, Basma is already looking ahead to the celebration - ‘Eid night is centred around Eid dinner when we exchange gifts with family and indulge in Mama’s culinary treats. This is when all the guests look their best’, Basma says. With this in mind, we reached out to the fashion-forward mum of girls to talk us through how she plans to dress them for every stage of the big day - and night.

A Good Night
We love building excitement around Eid the night before by putting the entire family in a new pair of pyjamas as preparation for the festivities ahead. This year the girls will be spending Eid al-Fitr eve with their grandparents, so we decided to get them a new set of pyjamas. We went for the Flower FairiesTM brand by Childrensalon.

A day to remember
On the day itself, we like to set up a bouncy castle for the children and and for the family a bbq (weather permitting). Smart, casual attire is perfect for this part of the celebration. Liyana will be wearing a pale pink AIGNER dress. I love the fit and Liyana loves it as pink is her favourite colour. Sofia will also be wearing an AIGNER dress, complete with cute ruffles on the hem, cat logo and the handbag design on the dress.
I chose a pair of KIKU pink linen espadrilles for both girls which tied their outfits together beautifully.
Belles of the Ball

Celebrating in style
I chose a pink floral ombré dress for Liyana by Junona with a tulle overlay and a large detachable bow on the back. When she first tried it on she refused to take it off and I don’t blame her - it’s absolutely stunning. To accessorise we chose a matching bag and headband. Sofia's dress has a bubble shaped skirt with a gently elasticated hemline which is perfect for younger girls. I accessorised Sofia’s dress with a pearl headband featuring crystal gems.
Again, both girls wore matching pink patent Mary Jane style shoes by Children's Classics. I kept the footwear classic and minimal to compliment their show-stopping dresses.
