Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana first met in Milan in 1980 while working for the designer Giorgio Correggiari. Dolce, the son of a Sicilian tailor had attended fashion school briefly, while Gabbana had trained as a graphic designer. In 1985 the pair showed their first ready-to-wear collection in Milan to wide acclaim.
Most famous for their exotic ideas and faultless tailoring, Dolce and Gabbana has remained the choice of Victoria Beckham, Nicole Kidman, Claudia Schiffer and Madonna, to name but a few.
